As an inspirational speaker, National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor residing in Illinois, and a Certified Crisis Specialist, Camille is committed to helping others navigate life's many unexpected challenges while always maintaining a genuine demeanor and exemplifying compassion.
It is in having the heart to serve that Camille truly loved hosting outreach events with her outreach ministry before the COVID-19 pandemic to help and encourage others. Camille considers one of her most significant accomplishments to be when she spoke to a group of women in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, who survived domestic and sexual abuse. During this missionary trip, Camille publicly talked about being an adult survivor of child sexual abuse.
During Camille’s marketing experience while employed at a Fortune 500 company in 2007 and pursuing her M.A. in Strategic Communication & Leadership at Seton Hall University was when Camille realized she was not fulfilling her purpose. Camille can recall even from her adolescent years helping others and others expressing their gratitude toward her for taking the time to listen and encourage them.
Camille has delivered inspirational messages at churches, women's conferences, and other events and has previously hosted her inspirational talk show, “Speak Life Show,” on a local Fox television channel. She has also facilitated inspirational workshops at various venues, including a dentition center consisting of men and women. Camille has hosted workshops with the goal of helping women increase their self-esteem, and she has hosted a workshop for teenagers recovering from heroin addiction.
Camille graduated completed almost a year in a doctorate of ministry program at South University. However, after hosting various outreach events and encountering many people struggling with mental health issues, Camille refocused her energy and attention on returning to college to finally pursue what she considers a part of her purpose as a clinical therapist.
As she prepared to become an empty nester, Camille returned to Seton Hall University, obtained her M.A. in Professional Counseling, and is completing her Ph.D. in Counseling & Psychological Studies with a concentration in Human Services Counseling. As a clinical therapist with an organization that is a national provider of mental health services in over 33 states, she is committed to having an effective therapeutic relationship with clients. Camille specializes in working with younger and older adults, couples, and families.
Camille holds a special place in her heart for her previous experience as a substance abuse counselor working with adolescents and as a grief counselor working with diverse clients. When Camille relocated to Illinois and became aware of the gang violence in the city of Chicago, she desired to have an opportunity to help young people who have been involved in gangs. During Camille's experience as a substance abuse counselor, her daily mission was to encourage her clients that there was "light at the end of the tunnel."
Although Camille had people she cared about to transition during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, she gives God credit for giving her the strength and ability to help her help clients with coping strategies for their grief journey. As a grief counselor with a hospice facility in the southwest area of Chicago that offered counseling services to anyone who resided in Illinois, Camille provided individual and family counseling sessions and facilitated grief & loss support groups for a diverse population.
To add to her specialized training, Camille completed the 60-hour Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault certification program and is a Certified Crisis Intervention Specialist through the American Association of Suicidology. She is also a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), and was selected to be a part of AMHCA's Inaugural Leadership Institute while serving on AMHCA's Public Awareness Committee.
Camille enjoys cooking, photography, traveling, working out, and, most importantly, spending time with her family in her spare time. Camille has been married for over 27 years. She has two daughters walking into their purpose as a school counselor, and a lawyer, and twin sons completing their undergraduate degrees.
